Will man den Zahlencode umstellen, so gelingt dies nur mit dem Umstellschlüssel. Fällt der Umstellschlüssel in falsche Hände kann noch kein Unheil damit angerichtet werden, nur zusammen mit der richtigen Zahlenreihe gelingt das Öffnen des Wertschutztresors. Passiert aber während des Drehens ein Fehler, dann beginnt der ganze Vorgang von vorne. Ein Zahlenschloss ist sicher nicht geeignet, wenn man den Wertschutzschrank möglichst rasch öffnen möchte.
